Looking for guidance and templates for keeping your stakeholders informed about reopening? Check out our National Communication Plan for Reopening Schools:
Keeping Your School Community Informed During the COVID-19 Pandemic
The spread of COVID-19, or coronavirus, has led to extended school closures across the United States. This page serves as a hub for information and guidance on how you can best communicate with parents, staff, students and community members regarding coronavirus, school closures, e-learning and related issues.
We will constantly update this page as the situation surrounding coronavirus continues to evolve.
Planning for Future COVID-19 School Communication
With COVID-19 causing so much disruption, school district leaders have already had to address a wide range of challenges associated with delivering online instruction, providing meals to students, ensuring board meetings proceed and deciding whether to cancel or postpone events.
As we move into late spring, summer and even fall, superintendents and other school leaders will need to make further decisions while keeping all stakeholders informed. We’ve developed a coronavirus communications roadmap—including messaging and communication tactics—to assist in these efforts over the next several months.
